Springtail Culturing:
Charcoal is the ideal substrate for culturing springtails. This high-quality horticultural charcoal offered by Josh's Frogs provides plenty of surface area that springtails need to reproduce and thrive.
Charcoal reduces odors and makes harvesting springtails simple and easy - just add water and pour out the excess water and springtails!
Each 4-quart bag is the perfect amount to start a shoe box sized springtail culture.
Horticultural Uses:
Charcoal can also be used as a substrate additive to increase drainage and aeration in terrariums.
Charcoal is also lightweight, reducing the final weight of the potting mix, and aids in maintaining air spaces in the substrate. Charcoal is often incorporated into Orchid and Bromeliad mixes.

Once receiving a plant cutting, immediately transfer to water with 1/4 strength fertilizer. Allow the plant time to acclimate to its new setting by placing it in an appropriate window, or near a growl light. Just make sure the spot will not burn the leaves of your plant! Keep in mind that it may take some time for your plant to adjust after shipping.
We take great care in packaging our plants to ensure they arrive in good condition. However, in rare instances plants can be damaged during shipping. This can include brown or yellow leaves, bent leaves, or rot on the stem and roots. Don't worry, with a bit of TLC, your plant will bounce back and continue to grow. Please reach out with any questions and we will support your new leafy babe in any way we can.

- Wash Cold: Machine wash inside out with cold water to preserve colors and prevent shrinkage.
- Gentle Cycle: Use a gentle cycle to protect the fabric and design.
- Avoid Bleach: Do not use bleach or harsh detergents.
- Tumble Dry Low: Tumble dry on low heat or lay flat to dry for best results.
- Iron Inside Out: If needed, iron inside out on a low setting to avoid damaging the print.
